Delaware Debates 2018 will be held at Mitchell Hall Auditorium on the University of Delaware's Newark campus on Wednesday, October 17, and feature the state's candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Each debate requires a ticket for admission, which is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis to the public, students, and the University community. Tickets are limited to 2 per person, per debate.
Arrive early! Please arrive by 5:30 p.m. for the U.S. House
Debate and by 7:15 p.m. for the U.S. Senate Debate. Unclaimed tickets
will be distributed to standby guests 15 minutes before the debate
begins.
- 5:30 p.m.―Doors open
- 6:30 p.m.―U.S. House of Representatives (Doors remain closed until the event concludes.)
- 7:30 p.m.―Intermission
- 8:00 p.m.―U.S. Senate
Ticket distribution ends at the close of business on Tuesday, October 16. No tickets will be available on Wednesday, October 17. Tickets are available at these University of Delaware box offices. No more than two tickets per person per debate may be ordered:
Bob Carpenter Center Box Office, 631 South College Avenue, Newark, Delaware. Open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
UD Main Campus―Trabant Box Office, Trabant University Center, Newark, Delaware. Open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

No material with campaign slogans, logos, or political messages are allowed inside Mitchell Hall during the Delaware Debates. Restricted material may include clothing, campaign materials, literature, hats, stickers, signs, or banners. The audience is prohibited from applauding or making noise during the debate and may not do anything visible or audible to express support or opposition to any candidate during the debate. Violations will prompt immediate removal of audience members from the debate venue.
The University of Delaware routinely uses photographers and videographers at its events. By attending a public event hosted by the University of Delaware, you grant the University permission to publish or display photographic images of you.
